Course Delivery
The Institute’s educational services are delivered through a wide variety of formats, including distance learning, online and face-to-face. These options provide the flexibility to develop skills and knowledge with minimum interruption to day-to-day activities.
Distance learning
Distance learning is a flexible method of study where comprehensive learning and assessment materials are provided in a printed or online format, allowing you to study at your convenience.
Study and assessment takes place within a Study Period. There are six Study Periods a year, each approximately 15 weeks in duration and broken into two separate Study Streams (A and B). You can choose to follow one particular Stream, or mix-and-match between Study Streams, depending on your own study goals. Mixing between Streams can allow you to speed up your course completion, especially if you enrol in more than one module. However, it is strongly recommended that you take into consideration all your commitments. On average, students enrol in no more than two modules per Study Period.
For easy reference, the Academic Calendar includes all key dates for each Study Period.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the process of providing credit for previously completed qualifications, work experience and life experience. Prior learning is evaluated and compared with the requirements of the Institute’s course modules to determine what credit/s may be granted.
Applications can be made for RPL by mutual recognition, RPL by exemptions, and RPL based on relevant professional experience. For more information on RPL and to find out if you are eligible, click here.
