ANZIIF and TurksLegal Scholarship
About the Scholarship
The ANZIIF and TurksLegal Claims Scholarship was established to provide significant career development opportunities for claims professionals within the Australian general insurance industry, in addition to promoting excellence in general insurance claims practice.
The winner of the 2011 ANZIIF TurksLegal Claims Scholarship will be awarded an overseas package valued up to AU$8,000 including return travel, accommodation, $500 spending money and registration to the 2012 Claims Conference & Insurance Services Expo, to be held in Orlando, Florida, USA, on 15-18 April 2012.
The ANZIIF TurksLegal Claims Scholarship runner-up will be awarded an ANZIIF education voucher to the value of $500.
Who Can Enter?
Each entrant must be a current financial member of ANZIIF, be resident in Australia and work in a job role connected directly with claims. Entry is not open to members of the ANZIIF Board or ANZIIF employees, lawyers, accountants or medico-legal consultants employed in capacities other than as direct employees of a general insurance company.
Entry Details
Entrants must submit an application form together with an essay (2,500 word maximum) answering one of the four questions that appear on the application form. Applications close at 5:00pm on Friday 28 October.

2010 Winner

2009 Winner
Joseph Willis from Claims Solutions Pty Ltd was named the 2009 ANZIIF TurksLegal Claims Scholarship winner at the ANZIIF Annual General Insurance Breakfast held in Sydney on Friday 4th December. Runner-up was José Flores, of CGU Insurance, who won an educational voucher from ANZIIF valued at A$500. The winning papers both addressed the issue of early resolution and payment of claims in adverse situations, including the 2009 bushfires in Victoria and floods in NSW and Queensland.
