Academic Council The Academic Council supports the Institute's education and professional development programs by providing the Institute with industry knowledge and strategic independent advice to enhance its education and professional development products and services. The Academic Council consists of up to 10 members, and up to two Institute representatives. Members of the Council are sourced from the following industry sectors and locations: - General Insurance
- Life Insurance
- Insurance Broking
- Loss Adjusting
- Financial Planning
- Reinsurance
- Australia
- New Zealand
- South East Asia
Council members are also required to have: - Current individual membership of the Institute
- Sound understanding of the vocational education and training or university sector
- Strong insurance knowledge, credibility and experience and a commitment to industry education and professional development.
Members may hold a position on the Academic Council for a maximum of six years. The Academic Council meets four times per calendar year.
