Diploma of Financial Services – General Insurance Course Objective The Diploma of General Insurance is an essential qualification for general insurance employees who lead or hold senior positions within a claims or underwriting team, handle complex claims, underwrite complex risk, initiate and respond to legal action in relation to claims, survey risk exposures, implement claims recovery and review portfolio performance. The Diploma of Financial Services – General Insurance comprises four modules selected by the student. The Diploma modules are paired under specialty classes, each of which includes one module on Underwriting and one on Claims Management. Students must complete one specialty class (two modules) then select their remaining two modules as required. Students are advised to select the modules most relevant to their work environment and career aspirations.
