2009 Australia and New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards

The Australia and New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards are hosted by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and founding partner Asia Insurance Review (AIR) to honour the achievements of companies and individuals within the Australian and New Zealand markets throughout the previous year.

The awards unite all sectors of the insurance industry to celebrate its dedication to best practice and high achievement.

Fourteen award categories provide companies and individuals the opportunity to demonstrate the highest standards of best practice and innovative initiatives in their field:

• General Insurance Company of the Year
• Insurance Leader of the Year
• Law Firm/Practitioner of the Year
• Life Insurance Company of the Year
• Loss Adjuster of the Year

• Risk Manager/Team of the Year
• Service Provider to the Insurance Industry
• Services to the Community Award
• Innovation of the Year
• Treasurer's Award for Good Governance and Practice 

Each award category is adjudicated by a distinguished panel of Australian, New Zealand and international judges and is independently audited by Ernst & Young to ensure proceedings are conducted with the greatest integrity.

Companies, teams or individuals can be nominated for an award by a third party or by self-nomination through submission of an application.

Award winners are announced and presented at a gala presentation evening attended by over 800 industry leaders and members.
