Institute Scholarships The Institute actively supports the educational development of insurance professionals in the Asia Pacific region through a number of academic awards and scholarships. All of the Institute’s scholarships are established in partnership with insurance and financial services organisations who wish to take an active role in promoting professional excellence. Peter Corrigan International Exchange Award Open to ANZIIF Senior Associates and Fellows under the age of 35 and who have permanent residency in either Australia/New Zealand or Oceania/South East Asia/North Asia/Japan or the South West Pacific, the Peter Corrigan International Exchange Award was introduced by Deloitte and the Institute to encourage talented young insurance professionals to develop leadership abilities and international business links in Australia, Asia, New Zealand and the South West Pacific. Each year two winners in the region share A$10,000 to support a program of work, research and cultural exchange. More information available here. Aon Benfield Scholarship This Aon Re Global and the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) Scholarship was established to recognise an outstanding insurance professional in the Australian and New Zealand insurance markets, strengthen industry links internationally and emphasise the importance of continuing professional development in all aspects of insurance.
The scholarship is open to Australian and New Zealand residents with at least two years experience working in insurance or reinsurance. Typically award recipients will be 35 years of age and under. Applicants were required to submit a 2500 word essay addressing the lessons for the insurance and reinsurance industry following the Victorian bushfires. TurksLegal Scholarship The ANZIIF TurksLegal Claims Scholarship supports the educational and professional growth of Australian-based members by providing a significant career development opportunity for claims professionals working in the general insurance industry in Australia. Les Dobson Reinsurance Prize Established by Helen Dobson, the Benfield Group and the Institute, the Les Dobson Reinsurance Prize recognises the highest achieving New Zealand-based reinsurance student, who has obtained an overall mark of Distinction or High Distinction (70 or more). The winning student receives NZ$1,000 to assist with their studies. More information available here.
