Mr Paul Allison ANZIIF (Snr Assoc) CIP, Dip. Tech. (Comm), UTS, F.A.I.C.D. Principal & Chief Operations Officer Guy Carpenter

Paul Allison was born in Essex, England in 1954, and emigrated to Australia in 1967 when his father accepted a job as a Reinsurance Broker in Sydney.

Paul accepted a job at MLC Life in 1972 during which time he completed his studies at UTS Sydney. He has spent 31 years in the reinsurance industry - 17 years on the underwriting side where he was General Manager of Copenhagen Re, then Sydney Re and the remainder as a Reinsurance broker - as a Managing Director at MBR and now C.O.O. at Guy Carpenter.

Paul has been involved with reinsurance education for the Institute for over 25 years, both as an examiner and a member of the program committee for the Reinsurance Study Course. He was instrumental in taking the Reinsurance Study Course to China for two consecutive years in 1998 and 1999. He has been a Company Director since 1988 and has also served as a member of the NSW Branch Executive Committee and the Board of Advice of Risk Frontiers since 2002.

Paul credits his career success to a wide range of caring people in the business, all of whom have supported, influenced and mentored him.

Paul has been married for 34 years and has three children.
