Treasurer's Award Good Governance and Practice To recognise organisations operating in Australia that put in place processes and procedures that are representative of best practice in the field of governance. Criteria Applications should address the following criteria: - Leadership and stewardship (including strategic direction and planning and overseeing risk management and implementing internal control)
- Empowerment and accountability
- Communication and transparency
- Service and fairness (including corporate social responsibility, ethical leadership, and promoting environmental sustainability)
- Measurement (including monitoring and overseeing management, corporate performance measures and evaluating the board, CEO and individual directors).
How to Enter Nominations for the 7th annual Australia and New Zealand Insurance Industry Awards close Wednesday 19 May 2010. Organisations, teams or individuals may be nominated for an award by a third-party or may submit an application without a nomination for each of the fourteen award categories. Third-party nominations Third-party nominations must be submitted using the awards nomination form via the Award Nomination page. On receipt, nominees will be contacted inviting them to submit an award application. Self-nominations All applicants must complete an awards nomination application form via the Award Application page and submit it with their applications via the Institute website. Application Requirements To apply for an award, companies, teams or individuals must submit an application in the required format for consideration by the judging panel. All applications should be submitted as a PDF document not exceeding 5MB and must: - Specifically address each criteria*
- Not exceed more than 2,000 words**
- List names and contact details of two referees who may be contacted to support the award application
*The judging panel reserves the right to only consider applications that separately address each criterion in the selected award category ** Should the word limit of an application exceed the limit, the application will not be considered by the judging panel. Appendicies may be submitted however please note: if they fall over the word limit the judges may not read them. Applications must be received no later than Wednesday 19 May 2010 and must be submitted as a PDF document. For all categories, the qualifying period is 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2009.
