Insurer bolsters WA risk team

One of Australia’s largest insurers has appointed a new director in Perth to focus on its oil, gas and natural resources clients.

Aon Risk Solutions has appointed Alex Lumby to a leadership position of client director, within Aon’s Global client division.

Lumby will be located in Aon’s Perth office and will focus on servicing existing and prospective oil, gas and natural resource sector clients.

With extensive insight into the oil, gas and resource industry, Lumby was recently the global head of natural resources as well as the chief executive of Ascot Renewco for Ascot Underwriting, located in London.

Lumby knows Perth well, having worked there for Marsh and Benfield Corporate Risks between 2004 and 2008.

“This is an exciting and dynamic time for the Global team,” says Damian Schinck, managing director of Global, Aon Risk Solutions.

“The appointment of Alex re-affirms and demonstrates our on-going willingness to invest in specialists that provide distinctive client value. Western Australia is a very important market for Aon and we look forward to Alex strengthening and enhancing our team in Perth,” added Schinck.
