National Certificates
The Institute offers New Zealand’s National Certificates in Financial Services for Level 4 and Level 5, and these qualifications recognise skills and knowledge that meet New Zealand-endorsed unit and achievement standards.
The skills and knowledge that are required for National Certificates are exactly what employers say they need and the qualifications are recognised within New Zealand because industry representatives design them.
These qualifications are made up of unit (competence) standards that describe the skills and knowledge required by the industry in a particular area.
Unit standards and national qualifications are registered on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) that is administered by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and is designed to provide nationally recognised standards and qualifications, and recognition and credit for a wide range of knowledge and skills.
The Institute works closely with the NZQA and ElectroTechnology Industry Training Organisation (EITITO) to ensure our National Certificates in Level 4 and 5 are quality assured.
National Certificates may be obtained in a wide range of areas. At the Institute, we offer National Certificates in four streams: general insurance, insurance broking, life insurance and financial planning. For more information on the different streams available, refer to the links below.
